Website Promotion Secret Revealed

Website Promotion Secret Revealed
Written by Craig Warren
http://www.careerfromhome.org

You’ve finished building your website. Now there’s all
that invaluable traffic, just waiting to beat a path to
your site. You’ve dotted all your i’s, crossed all your
t’s and followed the standard to get the word out. You
wear a path out in your carpet pacing back and forth, In
between your pacing you check your server logs, hoping
for a sudden increase in visitors. The reality is, unless
your corporate America with a huge advertising budget,
the days of staggering increases in traffic are way down
the road. Isn’t there something I can be doing while I
wait for the search engine traffic to come?

As a matter of fact there is. Yet this particular form
of Free website promotion doesn’t make the headlines and
requires no software to install, no backdoor tricks into
the search engines and it’s totally free. What is it?

Now, Before I reveal this technique, I want you to
promise you won’t go near the delete button and you’ll
give me a chance to lay this thing out to you. Promise?
O.K. The Technique is “Posting to Forums.” In the first
couple days of “Going Live,” you can hope to attract a
couple of hundred visitors, at the least. This will be
small in comparison to the knowledge you’ll attain, by
allowing the members of these forums to critique your
site. You’ll then be able to make whatever changes
necessary before the search engines crawl your site.
Having your site critiqued by experienced marketers,
For Free, well, Let’s just say, You Can’t Beat The
Price.

If you’ve never visited or posted in a forum. Don’t be
intimidated. These are people no different from you and
I. Merely a group of like-minded individuals seeking to
get answers to their questions or providing answers to
questions asked. Usually on a specific topic or topics.

Side Note: Before you post make sure you read the rules
for posting. Read some of the posts being made. Stay on
topic, You’ll get the hang of it in no time.

Once you get the hang of it you’ll want to make sure you
don’t go announcing your new site to every other forum
you come across. This is viewed as Board Spamming and is
definitely a No No. There are boards that will accept
this sort of post but on a whole you’ll have to remain
on topic and wait for the opportunity to legitimately
slide your announcement in. Sometimes outright and others
in your signature.

Finding forums to fit your needs is easy. Just type
forums into your favorite search box, you can then refine
your search from there. Check to see if the list of sites
meets your needs and go from there.

As a newcomer you’ll want to keep your initial posts
simple. Remember to mind your manners. Be polite and
friendly and always maintain the presence of the
Business Professional that you are. When the time is
right, simply ask them to look at your site. You’ll
receive a pretty good cross-section of positive and
critical comments. Don’t go getting your shorts all in a
knot because someone has posted, what appears to you to
be, a negative comment. Keep in mind that you’ve enlisted
them to critique your site. Be prepared for all the
comments. On a whole, the folks in these forums want to
help. However, from time to time you may run into those
that seem to have nothing good to say about anything or
anybody. Take all comments “Buffet Style.” Take what you
want and leave the rest.

Initially you may want to go look at one or two other
members sites and supply some feedback before asking to
have yours looked at. This will give you valuable
insight. What you may find wrong with someone elses site,
you can apply it to your own and make the necessary
changes. When looking for a site to be looked at, look
for the post who has little or no responses to it. By
responding to their post they’re likely to express their
gratitude by visiting your site when you ask in your
post. This technique may seem a bit sly but nonetheless
effective. Just don’t get in the habit of operating in
this manner.

You will not get a ton of traffic from forums but you
will have engaged in an effective form of site promotion
and all forms of site promotion need to be entered into
the mix. As has been said by someone other than myself,
“You don’t need to get it right, You just need to get it
going.” By applying the above you will have “Indeed Got
It Going!”

Forums are a great place to make new friends and interact
with those that are trying to accomplish pretty much the
same things we are. So keep things rolling right along by
“Posting to Forums!”

Getting Traffic To Your New Website

Getting Traffic To Your New Website
Written by Craig Warren
http://www.craigsonlinetips.com/

So you’ve just finished creating your new website. It
looks good and you are ready for the visitors, you can’t
wait for the traffic to come. So how are you going to get
traffic to your new site? You will now need to promote
your new site. Here are a few things you could start with:

* Submit your site to the Search Engines

If you want people to find your site then you should
start by submitting your site to the biggest 3 search
engines, which are Google Yahoo and MSN. They will find
your site eventually without submitting to them but why
wait. You should also submit your site to all the other
lesser-known search engines because some people don’t or
can’t use the big 3. Can be time-consuming to submit your
site to most of them so Search Engine Submission Software
is recommended for this.

* Submit your site to Directories

People go here to find other websites. Provides good
incoming links when your site is listed on directories,
which can over time increase your websites popularity
and SE rankings. There are so many directories that
this can also be time-consuming.

* Submit your site to Classifieds sites

Was once considered to be an excellent way to get traffic
to your site but not as effective today, however, it still
could be worth your while submitting your site to the
classified sites using Search Engine Submission Software
because most of those sites are considered high traffic
sites.

The above three methods are great ways to promote your
site and start getting traffic but they can be very time
consuming if you decide to submit your site manually to
the above, however, there is a much faster and incredibly
simpler way to get your site on over 700,000 Search
Engines, Directories, Classifieds, Online Malls and Link
pages by using a Search Engine Submission Software

You could also consider other ways of getting visitors to
your site like

Article Submission

Writing articles about what can be found on your site
and distributing them to article directories with a link
to your site included in every article you write.

Use Forums

Participate in Forums that are related to your sites
content. Post your opinion or expertise on the subject
matter and over time you’ll be allowed add a link to your
site with every post you make.

Add lots of related links to your site

This is reciprocal linking where someone adds your link
to their site while you agree to add their link to your
site. Make sure the sites you link to are related to your
site in some way, this will improve your search engine
ranking for more traffic. Example, If you have a weight
loss site you should link to other weight loss related
sites like health, fitness, diet and exercise.

Use Pay Per Click (PPC)

Brings in quality traffic but it can get costly if you
don’t know what you’re doing. Every time someone visits
your site it will cost you a pre-determined amount
usually a few cents. I recommend you learn all about this
method before you dive in, however, you can at least set
your limit on how much you are willing to spend on this.

Traffic Exchanges

This is where you view other people’s sites to gain
credits that will allow them to view your site. Most of
the people viewing your site will have no interest in
your site, they are only clicking on your site to gain
credits. Worth a try because its free to join.

Advertise in Ezines

This can be an excellent way to advertise your website.
Only use ezines that are related to your site and have a
large circulation. Allow your site ad a few months of
advertising to get the best value.

Hit Boosters

Instant traffic to your site using software technology.
Some can be quite useless but others can bring in truly
remarkable results for your site.

There are many more traffic gaining techniques. The above
are 10 good ways that will get traffic to your site and a
couple of solutions to your site promotion ventures. My
advice is to try the above first and then when you are
familiar with them you can look for other methods.

Why You Should Join A Forum

Why You Should Join A Forum
Written by Craig Warren
http://www.craigsonlinetips.com/

Human beings are social by nature and online communities
or forums are the latest in a long progression of social
organizations created by humankind. While many people
join forums specifically for the social benefits, there
are several good reasons for internet entrepreneurs to
join an online forums. Here are the top seven benefits
you and your online business can reap.

The top reason many internet business men and women join
forums is for the search engine benefits. Many forums are
tremendously popular with search engines and so not only
rank well but also are regularly crawled. Most forums
offer an introductions area as well as a signature area
where you can promote your web site or sites. In
addition, as you participate in a forum that is relevant
to your site’s topic there will likely be opportunities
to work your site into conversation. All these links can
be of tremendous benefit in terms of search engine
rankings and relevant back links.

However, if you think that search engine benefits are
the beginning and end of the ways you and your internet
business can profit from joining a forum then you are
missing out on a lot of learning.

If you are going to join a forum then join a forum that
help you learn more about your niche. Even if you are an
expert in your field there is always more to be learned
and where else to go for that knowledge than a place
where others knowledgeable in your area also hang out?
That is what is so wonderfully flexible about forums.
There really is an Internet community for everyone and
every interest. Your task is to find the forum where
your peers are already hanging out. Learning more
about your niche is a tremendous benefit of joining a
forum.

You don’t need to restrict your forum memberships to
those within your field. It is also wise to join forums
that can help you learn more about how to run your
business. Find forums of other small business owners
and entrepreneurs. You will soon be able to find folks
who are at your level of expertise as well as those with
more experience willing to share their hard-earned
lessons. Soon you’ll have the opportunity to repay that
debt by mentoring other newbies. This sharing and hand-
holding is one of the elements that make Internet
communities so successful.

You should also seek a forum to help you with your
Internet marketing. There are many different approaches
to Internet marketing and while some people prefer the
scatter-gun approach most choose one or two primary
methods. Explore and text methods to determine which you
feel most comfortable with and then join a forum focused
on that method to help you refine your approach and
achieve maximum success.

One of the primary problems with the internet is that it
can be easy to feel isolated. However forums can help
bridge the gap of time and distance by serving as a
community as well as an information source. Friendships
and even love can be found in time and laughter and
camaraderie and commiseration can help sustain the person
as well as the business.

Forums can also help you find customers for your
business. As you participate and share information about
your business some folks will naturally express an
interest. As you share your expertise and demonstrate
your knowledge then you will attract still more. Don’t
be a pushy salesperson, simply allow your expertise to
showcase your business and you will attract a quality
customer relationship.

A forum can also be a great place to find partners to
help you expand or promote your business in a number of
ways. You might discover some like-minded soul whose
business perfectly complements yours or you might
discover the perfect joint-venture partner. Even if you
encounter people you might view as competition try to
view the relationship from many angles to see if there
is a way to benefit from a partnership rather than a
competition.

Joining forums can provide many benefits to you and to
your business but remember that internet communities are
social contracts with rules and guidelines. Make sure you
know and understand the rules before leaping into
discussions. It is even more difficult to undo a bad
first impression on the Internet as it cannot always be
erased. Start slow and easy until you are sure of your
footing. Also, be very wary about pushing your business
too aggressively. That type of activity can get you banned
from a forum pretty quickly. Many forums have a clearly
marked area for advertising and sales posts and also allow
some blatant promotion in your signature, but keep your
posts on topic and helpful and you’ll be better off in the
long run.

Reliable Website Hosting

Reliable Website Hosting
Written by Craig Warren
http://www.craigsonlinetips.com/goto/pips/

As the use of the internet increases every day, with more
people than ever before utilizing the World Wide Web to
find products and services they need, reliable website
hosting becomes a bigger issue. Consumers will not
continue using companies who have web sites that are slow
loading or are constantly having technical difficulties
and down time. It could be the death of a growing online
company to have a site that’s unavailable for any lengthy
time frame because of a server problem. The choice of a
reliable web site hosting company is then imperative.

Online companies along with individuals will want to
select a reliable web hosting company that also offers
great customer service, fair and competitive pricing plus
first class management. There are some suggestions you
will want to remember when looking for a reliable web
hosting company. If you are seeking quality and
reliability you will want to do a some research before
you make your final decision.

When you are ready to start a web site either for
business or personal needs, you need to find a reliable
hosting service. The reason for this is because that will
be the place you keep the web pages for viewing by
consumers and possible business clients. If you are just
starting with an online presence either as an e-commerce
venture or even as an individual you want to first
understand the basics of web hosting.

A server is a computer that gets the requests for pages
or files from the internet. When someone types in a
domain name a server somewhere is accessed. It then shows
the requested pages or files to the computer requesting
the information. Another way to look at a reliable web
host is, they are a landlord renting you space on their
computer to others. You then have a choice between
shared hosting or dedicated hosting. The difference is
evident in the name. A shared host shares its server with
more than one client and a dedicated host has one client
on its server. Dedicated servers normally are used by
e-commerce sites that require a large amount of space
disk space and more personal management plus cost a
little more.

As the internet is growing so is the number of companies
offering hosting services and the more competitive the
market is becoming. Some offer inexpensive monthly prices,
some even offer free hosting. As a business free web
hosting may sound like a great solution however, having a
website that is also shows advertising that may or may not
compete with your online business is not a very good idea.
In general a free web host does not have the quality of
customer service a paid reliable web hosting company would
have. These servers are also normally crowded with personal
web pages and have limited options. Many have technical
issues that may include down times which could have a
negative effect on your new business. These are all factors
you need to consider.

Paying more for a reliable web hosting company is a
better option. You want to make a good entrance into the
web and if you are already established you want to keep
your appearance and your clients experiences positive.
Another issue to think about is future expansion. A
reliable web hosting company can offer a multitude of
services and packages to grow as you do. When choosing a
reliable web hosting company think of it as a long-term
business arrangement.

Before looking into reliable hosting options make a list
of what is going to be important to you. This not only in
regards to the web site, but to other aspects such as
budgets, what you want to accomplish, short and long-term
goals. All these factors need to be considered. Sit down
with other companies about their relationships involving
several different reliable web hosting companies. This may
give you a great place to start your search.

We mentioned budgets which most start-up businesses need
to deal with. A word of caution here, a reliable web host
may not necessarily be the cheapest but you will get what
you pay for. Reliable web hosting can be found at a price
to fit just about every imaginable budget.

Profit Online Through Adsenselover Guide

Profit Online Through Adsenselover Guide
Written by Craig Warren
http://www.craigsonlinetips.com/

Who else wants to profit online through Adsenselover
guide to real money and home based business?

If webmasters want to monetize their websites, the great
way to do it is through Adsense. There are lots of
webmasters struggling hard to earn some good money a day
through their sites. But then some of the geniuses of
them are enjoying hundreds of dollars a day from Adsense
ads on their websites. What makes these webmasters
different from the other kind is that they are different
and they think out of the box.

The ones who have been there and done it have quite some
useful tips to help those who would want to venture into
this field. Some of these tips have boosted quite a lot
of earnings in the past and is continuously doing so.

Here are a few proven ways on how best to improve your
Adsense earnings.

1. Concentrating on one format of Adsense ad. The one
format that worked well for the majority is the Large
Rectangle (336X280). This same format has the tendency
to result in higher CTR, or the click-through rates. Why
choose this format out of the many you can use? Basically
because the ads will look like normal web links and people,
being used to clicking on them, click these types of links.
They may or may not know they are clicking on your Adsense
but as long as there are clicks, then it will all be for
your advantage.

2. Create a custom palette for your ads. Choose a color
that will go well with the background of your site. If
your site has a white background, try to use white as the
color of your ad border and background. The idea to
patterning the colors is to make the Adsense look like it
is part of the web pages. Again, This will result to more
clicks from people visiting your site.

3. Remove the Adsense from the bottom pages of your site
and put them at the top. Do not try to hide your Adsense.
Put them in the place where people can see them quickly.
You will be amazed how the difference between Adsense
locations can make when you see your earnings.

4. Maintain links to relevant websites. If you think some
sites are better off than the others, put your ads there
and try to maintaining and managing them. If there is
already lots of Adsense put into that certain site, put
yours on top of all of them. That way visitor will see
your ads first upon browsing into that site.

5. Try to automate the insertion of your Adsense code
into the webpages using SSI (or server-side included).
Ask your web administrator if your server supports SSI
or not. How do you do it? Just save your Adsense code in
a text file, save it as Adsense text, and upload it to
the root directory of the web server. Then using SSI,
call the code on other pages. This tip is a time saver
especially for those who are using automatic page
generators to generate pages on their website.

These are some of the tips that have worked well for
some who want to generate hundreds and even thousands on
their websites. It is important to know though that ads
are displayed because it fits the interest of the people
viewing them. So focusing on a specific topic should be
your primary purpose because the displays will be
especially targeted on a topic that persons will be
viewing already.

Note also that there are many other Adsense sharing the
same topic as you. It is best to think of making a good
ad that will be somewhat different and unique than the
ones already done. Every click-through that visitors make
is a point for you so make every click count by making
your Adsense something that people will definitely click
on.

Tips given by those who have boosted their earnings are
just guidelines they want to share with others. If they
have somehow worked wonders to some, maybe it can work
wonders for you to. Try them out into your ads and see
the result it will bring.

If others have done it, there is nothing wrong trying it
out for yourself.

The Importance of Email Marketing Metrics

The Importance of Email Marketing Metrics
Written by Craig Warren
http://www.craigsonlinetips.com/

One of the great benefits of email marketing is that it
delivers measurable metrics. To run a successful email
marketing campaign, you need to monitor and understand
email statistics such as Open Rate, Click-Through Rate
(CTR), Bounce Back rate etc. Understanding these metrics
will allow you to improve your email marketing campaign
and achieve better results.

1. Basic Email Metrics you should evaluate in each email
campaign:

Open Rate that is the total number of emails opened in
HTML format divided by total emails delivered or
distributed.

Click-Thru Rate (CTR) calculated as the number of unique
clicks on links in the email divided by the number of
emails opened. It basically means how many people
interacted with your email.

Bounce Rate represents the total number of emails that
were not delivered and bounced back. There are several
reason why the email was rejected such as the email
address is no longer valid, a server filtered the email
out or the recipients mailbox was full and over quota.

Based on your unique email marketing campaigns objectives,
you can measure more advanced statistics such as:

– Number of Emails Open based on Region/Country
– Number of Click-Thru based on Region/Country
– Number of Sales based on Region/Country/referring URL
– Conversion (Click to Sales) Rate
– Total Revenue per campaign
– Return on Investment (ROI) per campaign

2. What metrics you should focus on?

Well, this really depends on your campaigns objectives.
Open rate is a very important indicator to some extent
however to get a better picture of your campaign
performance, it should be analyzed in combination with
other metrics such as click-through rate (CTR) and click
to action rate (conversion rate).

Why is that? Because CTR and conversion rate are able to
tell you how many recipients took an action you wanted
them to take, such as purchased your product, signed up
to your newsletter, downloaded the white paper etc.
Whereas the open rate will only tell you how many people
read your email. So in order to measure the effectiveness
of your message, you need to go beyond the open rate down
to the action level.

3. How to boost the Click-Through Rate (CTR)?

Savvy email marketers not only want to get the email
opened and read but also want to know how many people
clicked through (measured by CTR) and they want this
number to be as high as possible. There are few key
points in each email you should review because they
critically influence the open rate and CTR. Those are:

Subject Line and Greeting

Make your subject line attractive. Subject line is one of
the most important factors that may affect your email
campaign results. However, please do not over optimize
your subject line otherwise it may look like spam email
and the client could delete it without opening it. Keep
the subject line short and specific, and if possible
address the subscriber by his/her name.

Compelling Offer:

It should be obvious from the first paragraph what you
offer as well as why the offer is important to the
recipient and how he/she can benefit from it. The first
paragraph should grab the attention so don’t write it to
long. Include your offer on top of your email and make
your offer attractive to the recipient discount and free
offers usually make users to click.

Call-for-action:

Always include a call-for-action button or link to
instruct the user to click for more details.

Spam Issue

Spam issue may affect your successful open rate
tremendously. Most of the ISP and hosting companies
have implemented the spam filter that can filter out
suspected spam emails. Please try to avoid using any
common suspected spam words such as free offer, money,
30 day guarantee and free trial.

Message Design and Structure

Use same colors and images in your emails, this will help
people recognize your brand. When you have a lengthy
message, try to include interactive links so people can
access more information through your website. Also, very
few people read the email word by word, most of the readers
just scanning the message to quickly find out what’s in
it for them. Keep this in mind and structure your email,
include headings to separate the message and use bullets
so the reader can easily see listed features or benefits.

Today’s readers are busy people and it usually takes them
just few seconds to decide whether to read your message or
delete it. So construct your message carefully and monitor
your email statistics to find out what works best for your
business.

Web Advertising

Web Advertising
Written by Craig Warren
http://www.craigsonlinetips.com/

If you run a small business, advertising costs must be
figured in as part of your overall expenses. If you have
received quotes for phone directory ads, business
association block ads and mostly any other print media,
these costs are quite high. So, what if your budget is
small, perhaps negligible? Will you be left outside of
the advertising arena or are there other avenues to help
you get the word out? The answer in one word is, yes.
Lets explore ways you can get the word out through
online means yes, via the internet!

The rise of the internet has spawned an entire industry
with it. You may remember in the late 1990s stories of
dot.com companies who made a fortune and then went bust.
The irrational exuberance of that era has, thankfully,
passed by and in its place is a much more rational, but
very lively market.

Today’s biggest players online are search engine providers
led by Google, Yahoo and MSN. Between them, these three
search engines dominate the market. Mostly everyone today
searches the internet for products sold by small businesses
to large corporations and these are the people you want to
target. Indeed, while Christmas season sales typically
increase around 4% year over year for brick and mortar
retailers, the internet has been seeing year over year
increases of 30% and higher! No small business operator
should exclude the internet when crafting a marketing plan.

Speaking of the search engines, both Google and Yahoo
have their own advertising networks. Google has its
AdWords program while the Yahoo Publisher Network is a
comparable, though newer program. This is where you, as
a small business owner, can do some of your advertising.
By selecting the advertising plan that works for you, you
can have your ads appear on web sites in your local area
or across the world and be charged a small amount per
click. In other words, you don’t pay for advertising
unless someone clicks on your ad and goes through to
your site. To keep clicks from getting out of control
you determine the price per click and the amount per day,
week, or month you are willing to pay. No busting of your
small business budget!

Banner or text ads on select sites can also be helpful
for your small business. If there is a web site you like
and you suspect that a lot of your customers would
frequent that site, contact the webmaster to learn what
his advertising charges would be. Perhaps in exchange for
submitting a few helpful articles, the webmaster would
waive your advertising fee altogether. Or, at the very
least, accept any other help you could provide
moderating a forum, answering questions, etc.

Another way of getting the word out is through your own
website. No, you don’t need a web professional to
establish your site, but it does help to have someone who
can guide you through the set up process. At the very
least a few pages is what you will need, so set up costs
shouldn’t be terribly expensive. In addition, figure on
paying monthly hosting and domain name fees but these
expenses should be no more than $100-$125 per year. Pay a
little extra for a web professional who can help you
optimize your site (make it search engine friendly) and
you’ll get your money back much quicker. Finally, check
with your accountant for small business tax deductions.

You can also generate plenty of attention by writing
articles, just like the one you are reading now. No, you
don’t need to be a professional writer, but if you can
clearly convey your thoughts and present a plan of action
for your readers such as, buy my product you can get
what amounts to be free advertising. How so? By submitting
what you write to article submission sites for wider
dissemination. By including helpful links in the author
resource box you can cause search engines to make your
website much more visible as your article gets reprinted
on other web sites. Furthermore, readers will perceive
that you are an expert and will likely inquire to find out
just what you are all about. You can call this, small
business advertising on the cheap!

No, as a small business owner you don’t have to be strapped
by high advertising costs — who has the cash to spare?
Instead, the internet offers to you several cost-effective
ways of informing people about who you are, what you do
and where they can find you.

Select the marketing plan that works best for your small
business. A mixture of all four points is a great plan of
attack for many small business owners just like you!

Website Hosting – What To Look For

Website Hosting – What To Look For

time frame because of a server problem.

A server is a
computer that gets the requests for pages or files from
the Internet. When someone types in a domain name a server
somewhere is accessed. It then shows the requested pages
or files to the computer requesting the information.

Another way to look at a reliable web host is, they are a
landlord renting you space on their computer to others.
You then have a choice between shared hosting or dedicated
hosting. The difference is evident in the name. A shared
host shares its server with more than one client and a
dedicated host has one client on its server. Dedicated
servers normally are used by e-commerce sites that require
a large amount of space disk space and more personal
management plus cost a little more.

As the Internet is growing so is the number of companies
offering hosting services and the more competitive the
market is becoming. Some offer inexpensive monthly
prices, some even offer free hosting. As a business free
web hosting may sound like a great solution however,
having a website that is also shows advertising that may
or may not compete with your online business is not a
very good idea. In general a free web host does not have
the quality of customer service a paid reliable web
hosting company would have. These servers are also
normally crowded with personal web pages and have limited
options. Many have technical issues that may include down
times which could have a negative effect on your new
business. These are all factors you need to consider.

This
may give you a great place to start your search.

We mentioned budgets which most start-up businesses need
to deal with. A word of caution here, a reliable web host
may not necessarily be the cheapest but you will get what
you pay for. Reliable web hosting can be found at a price
to fit just about every imaginable budget.

Email Marketing Evolved!

What’s a Niche and How Do You Find One

What’s a Niche and How Do You Find One
Written by Craig Warren
http://www.craigsonlinetips.com/goto/pips/

According to Wikipedia, a niche is a special place
within the scheme of things. Niche marketing is defined
as the process of finding and serving small but
potentially profitable market segments and designing
custom-made products or services for them. So it’s all
about finding your special place and the products and
services that fit.

Right from the start, you should understand that your
goal in discovering a niche is to concentrate all your
ideas and thoughts into the most precise, concise and
focused concept possible. Your potential audience is
everyone in the world with computer access and an
interest in your site’s topic. Your potential information
resources are everything known about that topic. So you
want to be sure to have enough information to eventually
fill hundreds of pages and you want to narrow your focus
enough that you can be perceived as an expert, as the
place to go for information, products and/or services.

I want to add right now that if your only interest is
making money online, this is a very difficult area to
build a website around these days. That niche was hot
a few years ago. Most successful internet entrepreneurs
in that area say they would not attempt breaking into
that niche if they were starting out today. There’s
just to much competition, there are way to many experts
already. Breaking into a niche market using keywords
like make money at home, work at home and home business
is next to impossible. There are billions of niches out
there, find yours.

Focus, focus, focus…

Let’s say you’re interested in art. You can narrow your
focus by choosing an art medium, period in history,
particular artist, subject still lives, dogs, clothing,
hairstyles, architecture, etc. Events, geographical
location and/or the life and inspiration of one or more
artists. Your aim should be to choose as many of these
focal points as possible, so that the end result is a
extremely well-defined subject matter.

Then you want to find out how frequently people are
searching for this information, what keywords they are
entering in the search engines and how many sites are
currently available with that information. Eventually you
will come up with your concept, your keywords and you
can begin creating your domain name and meta tags for
your website.

Keywords were named that for a reason…

Every page on your website will have its own keywords.
These are the words that people will enter into a search
engine and find your webpage. Maybe your art interest has
been narrowed down to the history of London architecture
as depicted in the photographs of John Doe. You must find
the best keywords for your niche market, see what sites
are currently available, maybe change your focus until
you find just the right balance between what’s hot,
what’s available and what’s wide open for you.

This all may seem a bit confusing and it’s not my purpose
here to show you exactly how to do all this, because
there’s already a step-by-step manual available and it’s
free, so why reinvent the wheel? It’s the Affiliate
Masters Course by Site Sell. Pick up your copy and go
through it one page at a time. Don’t skip steps no matter
how tedious they may seem, because once this work is done,
you’ll pick up speed and you’ll never lose focus.

Doing your homework completely at the beginning is
crucial to your success. It’s the hardest part, and at
the moment, the least rewarding. But once it’s done,
you’ve got the skeleton, the foundation, of everything
else you will be doing. You’ll have a list of websites
to refer back to for researching all the rest of your
web pages, articles, links and so on.

Might as well start out with the current hot item…

One last tool before I wind this up. There’s a new kind
of free advertising out there that’s also an incredible
tool when you’re gathering information. It’s called
Social Bookmarking or tagging. It’s the latest
alternative to linking, but it’s also a great way to
create your reference list when you’re going through
the Affiliate Masters Course. In addition to creating
spreadsheets with the information you find as you’re
directed to do within AMC, you can create your own
bookmark page online containing all the sites you visit
that are relevant to your niche. Eventually this forms
a web of links and back links, but in the meantime you’ll
have all your websites for further research in one place.

Navigate More Website Activity Through Email Newsletters

Navigate More Website Activity Through Email Newsletters
Written by Craig Warren
http://www.craigsonlinetips.com/goto/sfi/

When you own a business website, you may find if helpful
to have a weekly or monthly newsletter full of useful
information about your products. Newsletters can be a
great way to navigate more website activity your way.
Emailing weekly or monthly newsletters can be the best
way to update or remind past visitors of your services
or products. Extending special offers in those
newsletters can generate more website traffic, purchases
of services or products and possible referrals from the
visitors friends and family. Customers and prospective
customers are the backbone of your business. Without
customers, you would have no business. Businesses know
this and they know how important it is to maintain
communication with their customers in order to build a
stronger relationship. Good communication and strong
relationships generate loyal customers that will keep
coming back to you for more.

Email newsletters are a form of email marketing. This is
a great marketing tool for small businesses to operate
productive websites. It is a matter of communicating with
your target audience. For example, Jane has visited your
website looking for a birthday gift for her husband and
she decides to opt-in and sign up for your business
newsletter. Even if Jane decides not to make a purchase
at that time, in a week or a month when she receives your
newsletter with a special offer or discount, she may be
encouraged to return to your site to make a purchase. If
she is satisfied with her purchase, she may become a loyal
customer and refer your services or products to her friends
and family.

Why send newsletters via email instead of through the
postal service? Customers prefer receiving emailed
newsletters over regular postal mail because it is fast
and convenient. In addition, there is never that extra
piece of mail that ends up clogging your mailbox.
Businesses like sending newsletters via email because it
is easy, fast and more affordable than regular postal
mail. It is also less paper and ink used and no postage
or printing costs. Emailed newsletters are simply more
economical and no trees have to die.

When building your website, it is best to offer the opt-
in newsletter as a way to maintain communication with
visitors and customers through the information they
provide. You can also provide special discounts or
promotions to encourage visitors to sign up for your
websites newsletter. Offering appealing incentives in
the subject line of your emailed newsletters will
encourage the recipient to read your newsletter right
away instead of sending it straight to the trash bin.
This type of marketing will help you to navigate more
website activity and boost sales of services and products,
not to mention all the recognition your website will
receive.

Writing compelling newsletters can help build trust and
win the loyalty of your target audience. By sending
newsletters on a weekly, bi-weekly or monthly basis,
you can remind the recipients of your services how they
can benefit from your business and why they need your
service or product. This is also a great way to encourage
them to buy your services or products with limited time
offers, special discounts or extra bonuses. It would also
be a good idea to include simple how-to’s in your newsletter.
Many people enjoy reading how-to’s and learning how to do
something new.

You can easily navigate more website activity through
sending emailed newsletters to visitors. Newsletters are
a great promotional way to build a stronger and better
business through your website and for gaining loyal
customers.

For those entrepreneurs who are skilled enough to create
a newsletter on their own, this can be a very rewarding
challenge. Moreover, it is a challenge that can bring you
more website traffic and generate more customers that will
eventually create more purchases. Alternatively, you can
choose from many reputable businesses that specialize in
creating mailable newsletters for you. Many small
businesses find themselves to busy to keep up with the
demands of creating newsletters and if it is in your budget,
you may consider hiring the professionals to take care of it
for you. It takes a load off you, but you still get a great
newsletter. This way you can focus on promoting your website
and in all areas of customer satisfaction.
